Membership is free to all Kitsap County residents, and they offer reciprocity with many other libraries in the area, including the Seattle Library! Food Resources

Central Kitsap Food Bank

Open Monday-Friday from 10:00 am-1:15 pm. Closed on all federal holidays, the day after Thanksgiving and the week after Christmas. Their address is 3537 NW Anderson Hill Rd., Silverdale, WA 98383.

Central Kitsap Food Bank is an local, independent food bank serving Kitsap County. They offer one full shop a month, and allow their clients to shop for breads, fruits and vegetables every day they are open. South Kitsap Helpline

Open Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays from 12:00 pm-5:00 pm. Last appointment for food is 4:45 pm. Address is 1012 Mitchel Ave., Port Orchard, WA 98366.

Food bank serving the South Kitsap School District service area. Last appointment for food is at 4:45 pm. They strive to provide two food baskets per household per month. They define a food basket as a cart full of groceries, and the exact ammount provided is dependant on the number of persons in the household. Each basket is estimated to last between 3-5 days. Bremerton Backpack Brigade

Bremerton Backpack Brigade is a non-profit organization that serves the Bremerton School District by providing elementry school students with backpacks filled with food to help get them through the weekend. Each week, Bremerton School District employees tell the Brigade how many backpacks are needed. Backpacks are then discretely to students for them to bring home. Central Kitsap Food Backpacks 4 Kids provides supplemental food to sudents and familes of the Central Kitsap School District who are at risk of weekend hunger by discretely providing backpacks filled with food to qualifying students. Kodi Cares

Kodi Cares is a small non-profit organization that provides pet owners with assistance so that no one is forced to surrender or euthanize their pet because they cannot afford treatment in the case of an emergency. YWCA of Kitsap County

YWCA of Kitsap County is dedicated to ensuring the personal safety, rights, and dignity of those who experience domestic abuse and intimate partner violence. In pursuit of this goal, they provide a 24/7 hotline, 24/7 text line, emergency shelter, supportive housing, legal advocacy, support groups, and education. Rebuilding Hope Sexual Assault Center

Call 1-855-757-7273 at any time of day if you are in crisis, need information, or need a referral. Folks can also chat with an advocate via the organizations online chat feature from 8:00 am-8:00 pm.

Rebuilding Hope is a sexual assault center dedicated to serving both Kitsap and Pierce Counties. As a part of their mission, they provide 24/7 crisis services, case management services, advocacy services, therapy, and prevention education. Services are available in both English and Spanish. Scarlet Road

Scarlet Road is an organization that exists to help people exit sexual exploitation and sex trafficking. As a part of their efforts, they provide a variety of services, to include solutions and resources to exit the industry safelyand heal. They serve Kitsap and North Mason counties.  KIAC is the only organization providing immigrant-centric family, immigration legal, and tax and business services in the West Salish/Puget Sound Region. As a part of their mission, they offer tax and business services, immigration legal serivces, and family servies such as translating medical bills, connecting clients with rent assistance, connecting clients with free medical and dental appointments, and helping families get clothing, baby items, and pantry staples. Penninsula Community Health Services

Penninsula Community Health Services is a comprehensive community healthcare center that offers affordable healthcare services including medical, dental, behavioral health, substance use disorder treatment, and pharmacy services. They accept patients who have Tricare, Washington Apple Health, Medicare, Medicare advantage, select private insurances, and those who are uninsured. Jefferson County Transgender Support

Jefferson County Transgender Support is an independent peer-led support group that meets in Port Townsend. They welcome folks from all over the penninsula to the support group. The group is only open to trans, gender-nonconforming, and question individuals. Members are welcome to bring a cisgender support person/partner if they so choose. The group also maintains a verified list of local trans-friendly resources, to include medical professionals, mental health professionals, schools, places of worship, shopping, and other miscellaneous resources.  Hosted in Port Angeles, Esprit is one of the nation’s leading trangender confrences. Focused on making the lives of transgender people better, Espirit hosts classes for trans indivuduals, partners of trans individuals, a Big Sister/Little Sister program, a clothing swap, and more! PFLAG

PFLAG is a nationwide organization dedicated to supporting, educating, an advocating for LGBTQ+ people and those that love them. In support of this mission, they offer in-person and online support groups, online and in person LGBTQ+ education, and an extensive list of online resources. Kitsap Community Resources is a nonprofit social services agency dedicated to serving low-income Kitsap County residents by providing resources that promote self sufficeincy and stability. In pursuit of this goal, they provide a multitude of srvices, to include financial assistance for energy bills, evection prevention assistance, assistance finding affordable housing, financial education, a preschool program, and parenting resources (to include classes and resources for perpetrators of domestic violence).  The Marvin Williams Recreation Center in Bremerton is a two-story recreation center offering an open gym, locker room, computer lab, cooking theater classroom, and rentals for meetings, celebrations, and social events.
